On Wednesday 3rd February students from local Universities and colleges congregated in Falmouth to protest about the government’s proposal to uncap University fees. FXU (Falmouth & Exeter Student Union) took the lead on this NUS national campaign to ‘takeover towns’ across the country, and started their march from Tremough campus, finishing on the Moor in Falmouth town. FE and HE students from Cornwall College also took part, as many of them felt passionate about the cause. The main concerns are that many future students will be unable to afford to go to University, and the ones that can will end up with debts doubling that of the current graduate.
